Howard Androphy gave an oral history interview on October 25, 2001 for the Jewish History Project. Sandra, Howard's wife, was present but only spoke to clarify things for Howard. Howard Androphy was born in Derby, CT in 1921 and he served in the Air Force during WWII. After the war, he and Sandra met in Bridgeport and they moved to Waterbury. Howard and his brother owned an appliance store in downtown Naugatuck. They both speak about what life was like in Derby, life in Waterbury, Jewish owned businesses in the area, keeping a kosher home, and Uniroyal Company.
