Conical iron shell on stem. Hole in top filled with circular plug with hollow center and trench indentation across top. Conical body has three finger shaped indentations approximately 6.6 cm high, 2.2 cm wide. Base is 3.5cm tall. Bottom has hole which is plugged up. Maker possibly Hotchkiss, circa 1861 (from an old accession card, which also read "shell was used in testing and was found where it was fired toward the mountainside in Sharon"). Exhibited in 1995 Hotchkiss exhibit.
