ED KIRBY HAS ORIGINAL OF THIS PHOTO
Original Hotchkiss Factory. Ed Kirby said it was on the east side of the valley brook, south of King Hill Road. The brook is known as either Indian Lake Creek or Mudge Pond Brook. Manufactured curry combs, harness buckles and other such things. This is the site of Will Trowbridge's dig.
The water in front of the factory is actually a long race, which Ed thinks may have started near Barbara Bartram's property at 60 Millerton Road.  He has more information to add to this description.
The house in the back right is the Ashael Hotchkiss house (extant), with his shop in back (no longer standing). The building above the roof of the factory is now John Matthews' shop.
