Tapestry handbag made of wool, velvet and canvas. Needlepoint with a design of olive green, brown, maroon and light tan wool yarn on canvas. Has a green geometric design and some stylized flowers on the front panel. The needlepoint is pieced both front and back. Maroon velvet is on the sides an bottom. The rounded flap, which has a continuation of the back tapestry design, closes the bag opening by a tape loop and two jet black buttons. The flap is lined with maroon jacquard brocade. The bag proper is lined with a tan cotton fabric. The handle is twisted cord, perhaps silk or cotton. Shows use. Some of wool of tapetsry is gone. Gift of Dr. and Mrs. Byron Stookey. Slippers (1941.01.001) were also given.
