Linen pillow case. Hand spun, hand woven and hand sewn. Done in counted cross stitch in tan cotton thread. C xx J

Stained and show signs of use, otherwise in excellent condition. Belonged to Nathan Jewett's father and mother - Mrs and Mrs. Caleb Jewett. The flax was grown in the field across from the Jewett house at the corner of Jewett Hill Rd and Jackson Hill Rd. later owned by Lewis Devaux. Marie Powers was thought to be the sister of Nathan Jewett.
