Picture is of thr north side of 42 Uper main with smoke billowing from the roof. Two men are on the roof of the eastern addition, and one is training a fire hose in a window in the attic.

The north facade of the house is clapboards. On the first floor in the original house, thre is a doorway with a small, somple portico. There are two windows without shutters to its right. On the second floor, there is a bay window, slightly off-center of the door. There is a snall window to the left of this. There are two small windows with shutters in the attic. There is a chimney on this gable end. Attached to it is a television antenna.

There is a two-story addition on the eastern face of this house. Its northeast corner is cut off at an angle. On each story, there are twp windows on the north face, one on the angled portion and one more on the westerly facing portion. There is a set paneled bands between the first and second floor.

There are four people in the yard and there is assorted furniture.
