Born digital 3 minute video produced by MHS about one of Madison’s most famed native sons, Capt. Frederick Lee, a Madison native who is often referred to as the father of the U.S. Coast Guard. A war hero who spent much of his life aboard ships, he is remembered for his heroism during the War of 1812, the establishment of Lee’s Academy—an institution of higher learning, and as one of the founders of the town of Madison.
Narration is by Norah Stotz and editing is by Abby Simpson.  Images are from MHS' collection, The National Gallery of Art and the New Haven Museum.  Produced by Maryanne Harmuth and the students and teacher at Daniel Hand High School.
