A photograph of an etching of Thomas Chittenden (1730-1797). On the back is the following description:

A phtograph of an etching of Thomas Chittenten (1730-1797). He was born on Neck Road and became the first governor of Vermont in 1778. He was largely responsible for establishing Vermont independent of New York. His son also became governor. The original etching was made by H. B. Hall of New York.
