Two-sided letter discussing James Burse/Barse June of the 4th Company & 14th Reg.t of militia in Connecticut.

Sharon June 24 --- 1781

Sir according to orders received from Col.o Burrel you are immediately to Detaich two privits out of your company abel bodied effective men complet in armes to go to West Point to serve three months unless sooner discharged according to Resolve of the Governor & Counsel of Safety and Make Return of their names to me forthwith or by Thursday nite next and we that they are ready to march by that time if cald for: and you are to se that the men from Cornwall to go in the two State Ridgments that are not gonto be immediately got an joine of Said Ridgments according to a resolve of the General Assembly: and as you are wanting one man for the Continental army you must git him forthwith and Deliver him at the courthouse in Litchfield the fifth Day of July Next to an officer who will be their to receive them taking the Resolves of the Assembly and Governor & Counsell for your rules for the foregoing---and make Return to me forthwirth & c
To Capt Pierce at Cornwall: Ebenezer Gay Lieut Col.o

Sir you are hereby ordered forthwith to Detaich by Peremtory Detaich James Burse June of the 4th Company & 14th Reg.t of militia in Connecticut to serve three months after he joins the army at West Point fort according to the written order & make return to me by ten o’Clock tomorrow morning 27th June 1781
