Photograph shows three men and two women posing with bicycles on a bridge that runs over marshland. The image reflects the trend toward athletics and recreational sports in the late nineteenth century, with the Golden Age of Bicycles beginning in 1890 and bringing improvements in bicycle comfort and safety. Clothing also changed during this period to allow the freedom of movement required for tennis, swimming, and cycling. 18.75" x 12"
