Joel and Jayne Demick gave an oral history interview for the Jewish History Project on October 30, 2001. Joel's parents came to Waterbury in 1916 and opened a dress store called Liberty Dress Shop, later Lee Claire's, that was open until 1993. Joel ran the dress shop until 1993. They discuss the family business and what life was like in Waterbury.
