This carte de visite depicts Elsie Rowland Chase before she was married. This photograph is found in a photograph album from the Records of the Chase Collegiate School. Elsie was a graduate of Saint Margaret's School. She studied at the Yale School of the Fine Arts from 1884 to 1889. The Mattatuck Museum has several examples of her work in their collection.
