The Waterbury View camera was manufactured by Scovill from 1885-1896. It was a very popular model, and Scovill produced a wide variety of Waterbury View cameras at different price points and with different features. This camera itself is very light and can be folded to be stored in a carrying case similar to a briefcase. Waterbury View cameras were often sold to amateurs in "favorite outfits" or a grouping of supplies necessary to take a photograph. Most common outfits included a tripod, a carrying case, and a set of dry plates. This specific camera also includes a Waterbury Lens made of brass.
