Minotaure was a Surrealist magazine that was printed between 1933 and 1939. It was founded by Albert Skira. André Breton and Pierre Mabille served as editors. The goal was to produce a magazine on "The plastic arts - poetry - music - architecture - ethnography and mythology - theater - psychoanalytical studies and observations." Rubin, William S. (1968) Dada and Surrealist Art. Harry N. Abrams, Inc., Publishers, New York. 525 pp. The magazine published high quality images of artwork, essays on the philosophy and artwork of the surrealist movement, and poetry.

This large bound volume appears to be individual issues 11 and 12/13 of Minotaure bound together. There is no other identifying publication information. This volume was previously owned by Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy, 2 well known surrealist artists. Issue 12 was a combined printing of issues 12 and 13. Issue 11 featured a cover by Max Ernst.
