One of the Old Lyme Impressionists, Margaret Cooper painted landscapes in places as varied as Honolulu and Nova Scotia.  She studied at the Art Students' League; the National Academy of Design with Guy Wiggins; the Pratt Institute with Dwight Tryon; and with Charles Woodbury, as well as other locations. Her work is in the collections of Smith College, the New Britain Museum of American Art and the Lyman Allyn Museum in New London. Cooper worked in Old Lyme. She was exhibited at the National Academy of Design, The Corcoran Gallery, and the Art Inst of Chicago.
