Ribbon medallion badge for Military Night, 1911. The metal and celluloid pin bar, with a brooch pin fastening, reads "Reception Committee". On the back of the pin is the patent information: Pat. Oct 1982. Mar 7. '93. From the pin bar hangs a navy blue silk ribbon, with the Connecticut State Seal and gold lettering, reading "Military Night at Ricketson's Nov. 24 1911. The pin manufacturer's name and location are stamped in gold on the back of the ribbon where it is stitched to the pin bar: "Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, New Jersey". Dangling from the ribbon is a celluloid and gold plated metal medallion with a portrait of a man in uniform, captioned "Our General". The portrait is surrounded by a decorative frame featuring lilies. The back of the medallion also has the manufacturer's inscription: "The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J.
