Fred and Janet Hennick sat for an interview for the Jewish Oral History Project on October 5, 2000. A hard copy of the transcript is available from the museum upon request. Janet opens the interview with a history of her grandparents coming to Waterbury from Russia and the hardships they faced. Fred also provides a history of his parents and his father's climb to an advertising manager position at the Republican American. They discuss the children's activities at Beth El, their childhoods, how they met and got married, their lives together, their attendance at Beth El, anti-Semitism in Waterbury and how it began to die away after World War II, and their community service.
