This title is in its original textured brown paper wrapper with the upper wrapper title stamped in black.On the first page is Grace's signature and handwritten note: "Inscribed in Friendship / Grace Miner Lippincott / Madison Connecticut".Grace's work includes many direct references to local life. This includes "Old Boston Street in Maytime" (pg 7), "Moonlight Over Tuxis" (pg 8), "From Bug Rock to the Old Fence Creek" (pg 11), and "Summer in Madison" (pg 31).Grace Miner Lippincott was a prolific and renowned poet with six published books, more than 1100 published poems, and ten anthologies. Born in Cornwall, Connecticut, Grace graduated from Madison High School in 1895 and was married to Philadelphia native Levi Lippincott a year later.
