Spun from the Sea by Grace Minor Lippincott holds 62 pages of poetry and was published in 1943 by Banner Press Publishers at Emory University in Georgia, 8vo (204 x 137mm), pp. 62. This title is bound in blue pebble cloth and the upper cover holds the title stamped in gold. Grace's signature is on the first page: "Inscribed in Friendship / Grace Miner Lippincott / Madison Connecticut / 1944". Pasted on page 11 is a black and white photograph of Grace in a boat. Grace's work includes many direct references to local life. This includes "Leather Man" (pg 46), "Supper Dance at Uncle Dick's" (pg 49), "Burning of Madison Shipyard" (pg 58), "Tuxis Lake" (pg 60),  and "Tuxis Island (pg 61). On page 63 is a line drawing of Tuxis Island.Grace Miner Lippincott was a prolific and renowned poet with six published books, more than 1100 published poems, and ten anthologies. Born in Cornwall, Connecticut, Grace graduated from Madison High School in 1895 and was married to Philadelphia native Levi Lippincott a year later.
