A scan of a document for the George Munger House with information about Gilbert Munger (1837 - 1903), a world-renowned artist born in the home. The author writes that Munger became an artist at an early age and painted plates of reptiles, birds, planets, and fish for the famous naturalist "Prof. Loue Agarsiv[?]." Later, he made charts and maps for the government and earned the rank of major in the army. After this, Munger made landscapes in the Rocky Mountains. 

The author mentions that Gilbert's brother, Roger Munger, was one of the founders of Duluth, Minnesota. She writes that there is a chapter on Gilbert Munger in Our Madison Heritage written by his niece Mrs. Myra Dowd Monroe.
