Letter notes that N (presumably Noyes) has not left yet, and Cynthia did not believe her letter would be worth paying for, so it was handed off to bring to Charles. Discusses in Charles' last letter that he was unhappy, and Cynthia gives advice to look beyond this world, go to the saviour, and notes that it is not in her power to help Charles. Goes on to note that Ann is home, and also not happy to be there. Asks that Charles write more often, as she "shall not forget my only son". Wished to hear how he spends the sabbath, reminding him to keep the day holy.
