Coll. 004 Fold. 001 Doc. 014.  Letter to Charles L. Meech from Father (C. Meech), Mother (Cynthia Meech), and others.
One page, yellowed paper.  Beautiful handwriting, ink still very dark and legible.  Almost no visible signs of damage.  9.75" x 15.5".  Address on an outside section.  Three different handwritings on letter.

Multiple different authors in this letter!  Begins with Charles' father (C. Meech) discussing his thoughts as to whether Charles should return home or purchase more land in Missouri- father votes for Charles to come home, and that many banks in the area have failed.
Mother takes up next portion of letter and begins by stating he will have received Ann's letter apologizing for them not writing sooner.  Notes she agrees with Father (C. Meech) but understands how Charles would feel about returning home.  Discusses God and eternity- "by this time you will say mother do stop".  End of mother's writing notes that "Hamilton says tell my pa to send me a letter... yes tell my Pa Charles to come home".
Next section of letter comes from a sibling (Sister Ria? [Rhia?]) and discusses a short amount containing most have gone to church, and the current day (Feb 15) is being observed as a day of fasting.  The only ones who remained home are Ann, Hamilton, and the writer.
