Coll. 004 Fold. 001 Doc. 015.  Letter to Charles L. Meech from Cousin Noyes B. Meech.
One page, browning paper, thin.  9.75" x 15.5".  5 horizontal folds, 2 vertical.  Several holes on the right hand side of the inner pages, torn where wax seal was placed.  Address on an outside section.  Remnants of brown wax seal present.

It appears by this letter Charles L. Meech returned to Preston CT from St. Louis, as the address on the outside section notes "Preston, Connecticut" for the first time.  Letter begins by discussing which letters Noyes received from Charles and when, along with noting "I do not know when I shall revisit your quiet village therefore you must brush up and give me the whole history in full scandal and all both private and public".  Goes on to say his hearth (and home) is about the same as usual, business has been dull.  Talks about an "Ebria" Douglas and how she ran off and married the first man who offered his hand when a man who (presumably) was courting her was away.  Gives his respects to all, writes a bit about folks back home, and ends with how he cannot "write any longer it was Sunday yesterday and of course I am unwell today"
