Wrought Iron

Iron tooth from horse drawn sickle mower bar for cutting hay and grass. Recovered from the 1974 A. A. Hotchkiss & Sons excavation site in Sharon, CT.  As part of the sickle bar it would interlock with other teeth to clip hay and grass, similar to how a razor works, but on a smaller scale.
