Wrought Iron

Iron tooth from horse drawn sickle mower bar for cutting hay and grass. As part of the sickle bar it would interlock with other teeth to clip hay and grass, similar to how a razor works, but on a smaller scale. Recovered from the 1974 A. A. Hotchkiss & Sons excavation site in Sharon, CT.
