Marie Baskerville was interviewed in 2001 by the Mattatuck Museum for the Fortune Project. In the interview Marie talks about her memories of Fortune's Skeleton when he was displayed by the museum as "Larry the Slave." During the interview Marie recounts her curiosity as a child about Fortune's history, and why he was displayed in such a way (rather than buried). She also discusses her thoughts about the museum's Fortune Project findings, and further contemplates what should be done with Fortune's remains.
