Baldassano began his studies as a biology major at Wagner COllege in New York in the early 1960s before switching to art. He studied with Tom Young and drawing with Bill White before attending graduate school in Oregon, He later returned to New York at the end of the decade and began to travel extensively throughout Europe. In the 1970s he began to enjoy more artistic success while suffering personal loss. When he returned to Buffalo, he founded BA<, Bufflao Art Movement, before marrying his personal and professional lives to the East Village. He became an art advocate and artist nurturer in the 1990s before moving to Oxford, CT. He now teaches, travels and continues to produce his own art.
