35 cm H X 22 cm W Measurement Notes: These documents are photocopies. The collection contains several individual pages.
This collection consists of photocopies of handwritten historical documents related to the Todd family of Madison, Connecticut. The earliest document is a letter dated November 28, 1876, from Philadelphia addressing a 'Mr. Timothy,' discussing family matters, health issues, and connections to Madison, CT. The next set of documents indicates family records, listing births and deaths of the Todd family members ranging from 1696 to 1738. Notably, 'Timothy Todd born son of father John Todd', 'Elizabeth Grace Todd', and 'Abigail Todd' are mentioned along with others. The final document appears to be a sworn statement dated March 1913 from Mary S. Todd Codd concerning family heritage, specifically mentioning a connection to Captain Timothy Todd of the American Revolution and the subsequent archival of a military commission in the family. A more recent letter (c. 1970s) from R.J. Hayes, targeted to the Madison Historical Society, requests that the Society keep the said documents in its files, and briefly describes them.
