Bonnet, Mary Scranton Evarts'

This bonnet once belonged to Mary Scranton Evarts (1872-1968), Madison's first librarian. The bonnet has a black crepe fabric exterior. The bonnet is held in place by a thick black ribbon tied under the chin, and the face is framed by a row of black wooden beads. The interior lining has holes (likely insect damage.)
