Hitchcock-style chair. Similar in shape to the 3 green chairs also given by Miss Wheeler (1911.14.001). Not signed. Finish is unusual - made to look older than it was. Black with brown wear marks. Intricate gold stenciling is not worn, but gold paint elsewhere is quite worn. 2 stretchers on sides, 1 turned stretcher in front, 1 stretcher in back. Top rail is turned.
