Video "Hammonassett and North" part of 'Madison (1980's) Now and Then'
From East Wharf Road we travel up Signal Hill Road along the original route of the Boston Post Road. We pass the homes of the Williams brothers, the Willards, and the Daniels - fishermen in the early 1900's and learn of their lives. Our journey continues with a side trip into Hammonassett State Park, along Cottage Road to the Hammonassett Cemetery. We stop at the site of the Hammonassett District school and continue on to the mills at Duck Holes. Then on to Horse Pond Road, past "Dutch Hall" and Whedon's Mill to the Woods District Green. From there we go to the Paper Mill on Green Hill Road and finally to the birthplace of Daniel Hand where our journey ends.
