Emilio Pucci, born into an illustrious family in Florence, Italy, began designing sportwear in the early 1950s. His signature style, with colorful, abstract designs on silk fabric, became popular among fashionable women during the 1960s. Elizabeth Taylor, Lauren Bacall, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis were some of the women photographed wearing Pucci designs.
