Video "East River" part of 'Madison (1980's) Now and Then'

From Circle Beach in the Neck we journey up the East River to the East River District. We visit a community that once boasted an airport, a railroad station, a library and community hall, an industry of national reputation, shipyards, its own post office, and a seaport. Only the community center remains. An area with a proud heritage, only vestiges of its former glory are visible today.
     We visit the Crayon Factory, study the day book of Simeon Munger, see the ruin of the Lippincott Airport, and solve a mystery contained on a post card.
