FLAX WHEEL: Killingworth Flax Wheel incised with initials A P - purchased by the society. AP presumably stood for Ashael Parmelee who made spinning wheels and flax wheels at his mill off the Chester Road. Parmelee had a shingle mill, a saw mill, and a grist mill on his property which is now known as Saw Mill Hollow. He died in 1854.
