Pair of oblong shoe buckles with 26 faceted paste stones and an engraved inner border. One buckle is missing one paste. The box bottom (top is missing) is composed of pasteboard and covered with leather with two arched compartments to support the two buckles. A silk lining covers the cardboard and paper supports that are stuffed with raw wool. Lettering on the paper used the ancient S and has 18th-century handwriting. The two front hooks are present as is one of two hinges on the back of the box bottom. Pasted on the underside of the box is a 19th-century note that reads "Slipper Buckles / worn by Hannah Allin / wife of James Hooker / on her wedding day / 1763."
