Ledger of accounts kept by Rev. Samuel H. Allen, husband of Julia Pierson Allen (b. 1827). She was the daughter of Dr. William and Nancy S. Pierson of Windsor, CT. The Allens lived in Windsor Locks. Entries dating January 1848 thru June 1849. The front of the booklet includes an index of categories and then the individual expenses are recorded by category such as stock, cash, board, clothing, payments on note to William S. Pierson, library, gifts, benevolences, incidentals, insurance, interst, bills payable, pulpit, and real estate. A separate Day Book starts at the middle of the volume.
