"From Farmboy to Preacher," the autobiography of Rev. Roscoe Nelson (1861-1961) as he recorded it in 1951. Nelson's grandson Rev. Winthrop Nelson prepared the typescript manuscript in April 1992. The story begins with a brief family tree, and then describes his parents, his home on a farm in rural Maine, boarding out as a chore boy between ages 11 and 13, his schooling at Bates College, first job as high school principal in Putnam, CT, attending seminary at Yale University, courship and marriage to Harriet Cooke, and taking the pastorate of the First Church of Christ in Windsor, CT.
