Black and white photographic print showing a group of sixteen women and one man gathered around a table in a wood-paneled room. The five young women seated in front are sewing, while the rest look at the camera. The photograph is mounted on cream card stock. The cardstock is titled in blue ink " Members and Workers of the Woodland Club".

The photograph was printed in the May 22, 1921 edition of The Hartford Courant, page 18 under the title " Woodland Club, Windsor". Crop marks are penciled onto the photograph at its top and sides, showing where it was later cropped when printed in the newspaper. The accompanying article was titled "Woodland Club is Formed in Windsor: Young Women Enthusiastic Over New Organization". According to the article, the club met at the Griffin School on the Griffin tobacco farm in Windsor. Y.M.C.A workers organized the club in 1920 to instruct young women in the outlying comminuties, especially foreign-born women, in sewing and other household arts. Games and music were also part of the club experience.

This photo also appears in the 1921 Town of Windsor Annual Report, p. 67, captioned "Sewing Class at Griffin. Woodland Club".
