Commission from Roger Wolcott to Ebenezer Grant regarding 3rd Company or Trainband in Windsor

This document is from "Roger Wolcott Esq; Captain General and Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Colony of Connecticut in New England." It was issued to Ebenezer Grant on October 30, 1752, 10 years after Jonathan Law's commission to Grant was issued, 2003.028.012. This document, now printed on a press, gives Grant the commission of Captain of the 3rd Company or Trainband in Windsor. The document is signed by Wolcott and George Wyllys,Secr. A complete wax seal remains, although cracked. The paper is yellowed and tattered with 3 vertical creases and one horizontal crease remaining. The back, where the document was addressed preserves the date and the maker/recipient. Pieces of tape from where the document was attached to black paper in the 2003.028.011 frame remain. The paper has a circle watermark in the center seen most clearly when the back sheet is folded upward. On the top of the watermark there is a crown.
