The rest of the sampler is designed as follows: A two-gable house is placed on the bottom right corner and three figures under a tree in the bottom left corner. One male figure leans on a shepherd's sabalo crook. The other man wears a blue suit and has a face made from paper that appears to be a cutout of Henry VIII. A woman in a yellow dress holds the man in blue's right arm. Top of the sampler is decorated with a bow and rose swag. Much of the silk has faded.

According to research by Betty Ring, a Sarah Welles kept school at the North Brick School House in Wethersfield from 1826 through 1827.
