"Squeezit" Bottle Opener was promoted as the "only bottle opener with an entirely different working principle. Hook it over the top of the cap, squeeze the handle against the bottle, and the cap is off. A spring holds the cap from flying". As the "Squeezit" did not bend caps, they could also be reused.

The "Squeezit Bottle Opener" (Chase Item No. 90086) was designed by Theodore H. Low and Harry Laylon. Low, of New Haven, Connecticut, was granted a solo mechanical patent and shared the design patent with Harry Laylon for "Squeezit". Introduced in 1937, the "Squeezit" was regarded as so unusual that even the catchy name was registered.
